Share responsibly

Upload images and GIFs you created or have permission to share. No harassment, hateful content, sexual exploitation, private personal information, or unlawful content. Admins review submissions and may reject or remove content that breaks these rules.

Rights and reports

Downloading a meme does not transfer copyright or grant commercial usage rights. Use the report form on a meme to flag a rights concern or harmful content. Include the relevant details so an admin can investigate.

Accounts and storage

We store your name, email, password hash, uploads, favorites, and moderation history. Passwords are hashed; they are never stored as plain text. Admins can suspend accounts for abuse. Contact the site operator for account or data removal requests.

Cookies and analytics

MemeNest uses a session cookie for sign-in and a first-party random visitor cookie lasting one year. Daily visitor identifiers are hashed with a rotating day value and retained for 90 days. We count download requests, detail views, and uploads to understand site activity. No third-party analytics trackers are used. When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile processes anti-spam verification. IP addresses are hashed for short-lived abuse limits.

Community activity and email

We store likes, comments, creator follows, in-app notifications and account-recovery emails. Comments are reviewed before publication. Search terms and result counts are retained for 90 days to improve discovery. Administrators can review search analytics. Deleted memes remain privately in the recycle bin until an admin permanently purges them.

Advertising

Direct sponsored placements use daily browser identifiers to estimate impressions and clicks. We record a view after at least half the ad is visible for one second; browser/day counts are deduplicated. Google AdSense, when configured, can use third-party cookies and processing. Google ad requests remain off until you allow them. Use Ad preferences to reset your choice. Advertisers receive aggregate counts, not visitor identities.

A note about counts

A unique visitor means a browser per calendar day in Africa/Lagos time. Clearing cookies, using multiple devices, or automated traffic can affect counts. Detail views are deduplicated per session and meme each day. Download counts represent requests served, rather than proof a file was saved.
